Treatment for Narrowing, Stenosis or Occlusion of Arteries: Peripheral Vascular Disease
Peripheral vascular or arterial disease involves narrowing, stenosis or occlusion of arteries, causing pain, cramping, poor wound healing or neuropathy. Arteries affected include the iliac artery, superficial femoral artery, popliteal artery, and subclavian artery. Procedures include stent placement, angioplasty, recanalization, laser atherectomy, and clot removal (thrombolysis). The physicians at SDI are highly experienced and very effective in treating peripheral vascular disease. We perform these procedures on a daily basis and have been performing them for many years, in contrast to most non-Interventional Radiologists. Renal artery stenosis: Renal artery stenosis literally means 'narrowing of the renal arteries', which feed the kidneys. The effects of renal artery stenosis include high blood pressure and kidney dysfunction. Renal artery stenosis can usually be fixed by angioplasty and stent placement. The physicians at SDI have successfully performed hundreds of these procedures. Links: http://www.sirweb.org/patients/ |
