General Preparation Instructions:

Barium Enema |

Please contact the Diagnostic Center
to arrange for pick up of the preparation kit. |

|
Please do not eat or drink anything
after midnight the evening before the study. |

|

Ultrasound Exams of the Abdomen,
Kidneys, Gallbladder, or Aorta |
|
Please do not eat or drink anything
after midnight the evening before the study. |

Pelvic Ultrasound |
|
Please drink 40 ounces of water,
starting 1 ½ hours before the exam and finishing the 40 ounces
within 45 minutes. DO NOT URINATE. |

|
|
|
CT Scans - (With IV Contrast) |
|
Please do not eat or drink anything
after midnight the evening before the study, or 3 - 4 hours
prior to the study for afternoon appointments. |

|
|
|
|
CT Scans - (Abdomen / Pelvis, With
or Without IV Contrast) |
|
Please arrange to pick up 3 bottles
of Oral Contrast from our center or your physician's office.
Instructions will accompany contrast. |

Mammograms |
|
Please do not wear any deodorant or
talc under arms or around breasts. |
|
|
|
|
|
MRI Scans |
|
MRI Scans are generally not performed on patients with cardiac
pacemakers or brain aneurysm clips. |
